Prior to Zaytuna College

Dr. Eiyad al-Kutubi is a scholar of Muslim theology and philosophy, the Arabic language, and usul al-fiqh. He is the author of a monograph, Mullā Ṣadrā and Eschatology: Evolution of Being (Routledge, 2015), and other publications in the field of Muslim philosophy. 
 
Across his career, Dr. al-Kutubi has taught Arabic, Muslim spirituality and thought, and world religions at a range of institutions including Georgia State University, the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and Indiana University, where he received an award for outstanding Arabic teaching. 
 
He has presented conference papers on the work of Imam al-Ghazali, Mulla Sadra, and the falsafa tradition. 
 
Dr. al-Kutubi returned to the faculty of Zaytuna College in 2023. He previously taught at the college from 2017-2020. 
 
He is fluent in English and Arabic.
