2019-03-08 18:30:00 2019-03-08 17:00:00 America/Los_Angeles Academic Conference on "Halal and Tayyib: Rethinking the Ethical" Please join us for the inaugural academic conference of Zaytuna College Center for Ethical Living and Learning, “Halal and Tayyib: Rethinking the Ethical.” The conference seeks to address some of the ethical challenges posed by modern systems of production and consumption. We will discuss, among other things, the pressing issues of sustainability, the environment, and treatment of animals in light of the rich intellectual and historical resources of the Islamic tradition.  The Center for Ethical Living and Learning aims to revive and popularize ways of life that conform to prophetic ethical standards. Programs offered by the Center include academic conferences and research, public workshops and lectures, experiential learning, and practical demonstration projects.   The Center was made possible through generous funding from the Islamic Food and Nutrition Council of North America (IFANCA).
